The unpredictable English weather struck with vengeance on Saturday 30th July.  By the late evening before the Collectors Meet, the field in which the marquee stood was under water and a decision had to be made whether to cancel the event completely or improvise.  The latter course was taken and all dealers were contacted late Saturday evening with details of the change of venue from Mill Road, Arundel to the Wade Collectors Centre in Ford, some two miles south of the town of Arundel.

In fact the day of the Meet turned out really nice and the sun shone for most of the morning.  There were dealer stands both inside and outside the small marquee to welcome the many collectors who turned out.   Despite everything the show was a great success and the only complaints were about the awful weather we have been experiencing in the south of England.  Thank you dealers for your patience and understanding.  Thank you collectors for braving the elements and making the show such a success.  Hope to see you all again next year.

   
The 11th Wade Collectors Meet will be held on Sunday 1st July 2007 at the Event Marquee, Mill Road, Arundel, West Sussex, just across the road from the main gates of the castle.  Gates open at 10am.

C&S will have a special 250 limited edition colourway ‘Cheerleader’ Betty Boop on offer as well as the second colourway in the Jetset Gingie Bear series and Treasure Chests and Lucky Dips.

 

The weekend really begins the day before on Saturday 30th June with an Open Day at the Wade Collectors Center in Ford Lane, Ford (two miles south of Arundel) where there will be lots on offer for Wade collectors including some very special Betty Boop figurines.   Also on sale for the first time will be Grandpa Town Mouse, sixth in the series of Arundel Town Mice and 50 special limited edition Jet Set Gingie Bears, a limited edition of 100 (the other 50 will be crossing the Atlantic). There will be snacks and drinks on offer so if you can possibly make it, we would be pleased to see and serve you.

 

Also on Saturday 30th June at 7pm there is a hospitality evening at the Official Wade Collectors Centre, Ford Lane, Ford Arundel, where collectors can relax, enjoy a buffet supper and barbque, meet the Wade Club team from Stoke and try to win some of the prizes on offer. There will be a quiz and the Wade Bingo.  All this for just £18 per person. The price of the Hospitality includes fast track entrance to the Wade Collectors Meet on Sunday 1st July at 9.55am. Many hundreds of collectors will be heading to Arundel over the Collectors Meet weekend so you need to book your accommodation early if you plan a stay over.   And if you wish to book a stand, now is the time to do that, as early booking is important.
